Abstract
I consider When Good Men Do Something ( Good Men) to be a philosophical thriller. My main concern was to make the film at the same time highly idea-oriented and highly accessible and entertaining. Thus, the story is about characters who have intense personal enmities, like in a thriller, but with philosophical rather than psychological conflicts. The thriller aspect produces. the entertainment, the philosophical description encompasses the ideas. The final challenge is to make the film not only successfully ideological and suspenseful, but to make it accessible without diminishing either of the other characteristics.
